CLARINET & SAXOPHONE CLASSICS

Sayyod Mirzomurodov

Sayyod Mirzomurodov is an international clarinettist and educator from Uzbekistan whose work combines a broad performing practice with a sustained commitment to repertoire-building. His debut release on Clarinet & Saxophone Classics –  Contemporary Uzbek Music for Clarinet and Piano—the first commercial release on the label devoted entirely to Uzbek clarinet repertoire – presents a curated selection of contemporary works for clarinet and piano with duo partner Mariya Akhadjanova.

Active as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral clarinettist, he places particular emphasis on contemporary Uzbek concert music within international performance and recording contexts. His performance activity has included Carnegie Hall, Orchestra Hall at Symphony Centre, and the Princess Galyani Vadhana International Music Festival (Bangkok, Thailand). Through close collaboration with composers, premieres, and recording projects, he contributes to the growth and documentation of new clarinet literature while maintaining strong classical foundations.

Alongside performing, Mirzomurodov is active as a teacher, mentor, and adjudicator, and contributes to the profession through service with the International Clarinet Association. He is committed to promoting the rich repertoire of Uzbek composers through his performances and recitals.
