Contemporary Uzbek Music for Clarinet and Piano
Sayyod Mirzomurodov, clarinet | Mariya Akhadjanova, piano
Contemporary Uzbek Music for Clarinet and Piano presents a distinctive journey through contemporary Uzbek repertoire, bringing together works that unite strong classical foundations with Uzbek musical character, colour, and expressive depth.
Featuring several compositions written for and dedicated to clarinettist Sayyod Mirzomurodov, this album highlights the clarinet’s lyrical, dramatic, and virtuosic possibilities in close partnership with the piano.
This is the first commercial recording devoted entirely to contemporary Uzbek music for clarinet and piano, and marks Sayyod Mirzomurodov debut recording alongside his duo partner, the pianist Mariya Akhadjanova.
